A great entry level opportunity is available for freelance Video Encoder/Dubber technicians.

Responsibilities include:
* Tape/file ingest for edits;
* Transcoding all file types;
* File to tape layoffs;
* Upload/download from FTP sites;
* Posting video to the web;
* Answering phone calls and monitoring email;
* Monitoring incoming orders;
* Tape to tape dubbing;
* DVD duplication;
* Satelite/Off-Air recording.

Required technical qualifications:
* Proficient in both Mac and PC computer platforms;
* Basic understanding of AVID/Final Cut Pro editing software;
* Basic understanding of file transcoding/codecs/file types;
* Basic understandig of file transcoding software such as Episode/Compressor/Mpeg and Stream Clip;
* Basic knowledge of tape decks/formats (HD Cam, HDV, Digi Beta, DV Cam, DVD…);
* Some experience with routers and video/audio patch bays.

Candidates must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Schedule flexibility will also be necessary as this position will require evening, overnight and weekend coverage/shifts.
