Position Overview: Retail Sales Manager is responsible for generating revenue from local small and medium businesses, and managing Retail Account Executives and Retail Direct Coordinators (support staff) in a local market. The role is familiar with both TV and radio sales, focused on pipeline management, and metrics oriented. A successful Retail Sales Manager manages a team that understands the importance of cold calling, goal-setting, time management and “selling beyond the numbers”. Functional Responsibility: * Manages sales process by planning prospecting and reviewing key metrics, pipeline and activity reports, churn rate * Provides coaching and feedback to Retail Account Executives ensuring that they are well versed in selling all platforms * Designs and manages inventory packages and pricing, coordinating across TV and * Radio stations in the market * Supervises Retail Direct coordinators to ensure effective pre and post sales processes * Responsible for Sales objectives for the Retail Sales team * Decision on level of account activity and number of accounts per salesperson * Decision on sales strategy and account packages Supervisory Responsibility Retail Account Executives and support staff (Retail Direct Coordinator) Minimum Education Required: College Degree Knowledge/Skills: * Minimum 5 years experience in local media / advertising sales of which minimum of 2 years was in a manager capacity * Strong written and verbal communications skills * Strong Spanish language skills * Strong rolodex of local customer accounts * Demonstrated leadership and management skills, in particular, in coaching and mentoring Following would be a plus: * Previous advertising/media experience in Radio and TV * Knowledge of Donovan, Marketron, Arbitron, OSI, Matrix, Concur, Sales Force |
